What is a dental hygienist and what does a dental hygienist do?

A dental hygienist assists patients through the use of preventative, educational and therapeutic methods for the control of disease and in maintaining oral health. Dental hygienists educate both adults and children on dental health, oral hygiene, plaque control and nutrition, whilst removing any deposits and stains from teeth. Dental hygienists also assist in the prevention and control of decay and gum disease, ensuring your total oral health is at a high standard.

Are you looking for a dental hygienist in Newcastle?

Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Healthy teeth not only enable you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health is important to your overall well-being.

Daily preventive care, including proper brushing and flossing, will help stop problems before they develop. Taking care of your oral health is far less painful, expensive, and worrisome than treating conditions that have been allowed to progress.

Oral health and dental implants

For those considering dental implants or being treated for dental Implants, maintaining their oral health to a high standard before, during and after their initial treatments is imperative to the success and longevity of these procedures.
