Your visit, step by step

01

Referral

Your GP or dentist refers you to us, required for Medicare rebates, though we can see you without one. We flag urgent pain and trauma for priority.

02

Welcome

Our office calls to book a consultation matched to the complexity of your case, and sends everything you need to prepare.

03

Consultation

Bring your referral, x-rays and medication list. Your surgeon examines, images where needed, and walks you through diagnosis, options and costs, in plain English.

04

Surgery

In rooms under local anaesthetic with or without sedation, or asleep in hospital with our anaesthetists. Fasting, transport and medical conditions are all planned with you beforehand.

05

Recovery

Comprehensive post-operative care is provided to support optimal healing, monitor recovery, and ensure the best possible outcomes for you.

What to bring

A little preparation keeps your first visit smooth. If we've sent a medical questionnaire, bring it completed.

  1. Your referral from your GP or dentist
  2. Any recent x-rays or scans
  3. A list of your current medications
  4. Medicare, health fund and DVA cards
  5. Any completed medical questionnaire or privacy forms

Referrals & Medicare

A valid referral from your GP or dentist lets you claim Medicare rebates. You're welcome to be seen without one, you just won't be able to claim. Once we have your referral, our office calls to book a consultation matched to your case.

Fees & payment

Costs are explained before any treatment begins. Payment is required on the day of consultation. For surgery a deposit is generally required, with the balance due within seven days.

Health funds

Most procedures are covered in part by Medicare and private health insurance. HICAPS is available for imaging and hygienist fees.
