Dr Benjamin Gupta

Dr Benjamin Gupta

Dr Gupta qualified from the University of Liverpool, UK in 2001 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He worked as a General Dental Practitioner around the North East of England until 2004, undertaking further training in orthodontics, oral surgery and dental sedation. He accepted a post as a Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Dr Gupta then accepted a job at Westmead Hospital, Sydney Australia. Subsequently he then completed a Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2009. He undertook medical, emergency, critical care and surgical rotations within the Hunter junior medical officer network.

He successfully completed his surgical training in 2016 within the NSW and ACT network working in Sydney and Canberra hospitals. He then accepted a Fellowship position back at Queens Medical centre in Nottingham. He furthered his skills in Temporomandibular Joint Surgery and surgical correction of sleep apnoea and complex facial deformity including cleft and distraction osteogenesis.

 

Professor Gary Hoffman

Professor Gary Hoffman

Prof. Dr. Hoffman completed both his primary medical and primary dental qualifications at the University of Queensland.

He undertook 2 years of vocational (dental) practice, completed a year of post graduate study in Oral Pathology, successfully passed part 1 – part 2 FRACDS and then completed four years of full time ANZAOMS accredited specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial (OMF) surgery (1985 – 1988, Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra Hospitals). He gained an additional three years of post – graduate targeted tutelage (under Dr Frank Moloney) in orthognathic surgery and temporomandibular joint surgery (1989 – 1991).

He achieved specialist recognition as an OMF surgeon in 1991 and then he unilaterally returned to further study and completed his medical degree (1996). This was followed by the mandatory full time registration (intern) year (PGYI, 1997) and a second full time year (PGY2, 1998) as a basic surgical trainee (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

 

Lucia Quinn

Lucia Quinn

Our Oral Health Therapist (OHT) Lucia Quinn is passionate about helping her patients connect their Oral Health with their overall general health and wellbeing.

Lucia’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH), Graduate Diploma in Dental Therapy (GDDT) and a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours). Lucia’s honours research explored the relationship between childhood obesity and dental decay. She was awarded the Highest Achievement in Bachelor of Health Science Honours and published her manuscript in the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists Association (ADOHTA) Journal in 2018. Lucia presented her research at the annual ADOHTA NSW conference in the same year. Lucia has also completed an extended scope-of-practice course which enables her to complete comprehensive diagnostics and management of adult patients.

Lucia has previously lectured at The University of Newcastle in subjects of Oral Pathology, Pharmacology and Administration of Local Anaesthetic, and Dental Radiography and Radiology. Other aspects of her academia career included course coordination, clinical educating and management.
