Dr Samakeh is a graduate of the University of Sydney obtaining his Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours (BDent Hons) in 2011. In 2015 he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) through the University of Sydney before completing his Junior Medical Training at Liverpool Hospital.

Dr Samakeh successfully completed his specialist training locally through the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons at Maxillofacial Units in Westmead Hospital, Mt Druitt Hospital, the Prince of Wales Hospital and the John Hunter Hospital. He is currently a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – FRACDS(OMS).

Dr Samakeh practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including:

• Removal of impacted teeth, such as third molars (wisdom teeth) and fractured/ broken down teeth.
• “Exposure and bonding” of impacted teeth (usually canines) to assist with orthodontic tooth alignment.
• Diagnosis and management of bone pathology such as jaw cysts.
• Bone grafting for alveolar (gum bone) defects in patients with cleft lip and/or palate
• Jaw re-alignment surgery where your teeth or bite cannot be aligned with orthodontics alone, including distraction osteogenesis.
• Dental implant surgery to replace missing or decayed teeth and a variety of bone grafting techniques to facilitate this.
• Temporomandibular joint surgery including joint replacement surgery.
• Surgical correction of sleep apnoea.

Dr Samakeh’s clinical interests include orthognathic surgery obstructive sleep apnoea, facial reconstruction following trauma and the management of temporomandibular joint disorders.

Dr Samakeh is a Visiting Medical Officer at Nepean Public Hospital.
